PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Learning Program Designer

What I do: AI tool interface on monitor

I operate at the forefront of digital learning for a California‑based video production firm, architecting multi‑course specializations for global platforms such as Coursera and LinkedIn Learning . My work blends instructional design expertise with a sophisticated AI production stack to deliver high‑volume, high‑quality learning programs.

I begin by auditing existing content and mapping outcomes to transform isolated modules into cohesive, multi‑hour learning journeys. With a meticulous approach to structure, I produce technically precise Markdown files that form the backbone of seamless platform integration, ensuring every instructional connection is clear, logical, and learner‑ready.

To accelerate production without compromising rigor, I leverage advanced AI systems -including Claude, Copilot, Gemini, and ChatGPT- for content generation, iterative refinement, and quality assurance. By engineering targeted prompts and maintaining strict standards of clarity and consistency, I deliver scalable, partner‑aligned courseware that sets a new benchmark for digital learning excellence.

Senior Learning Designer

What I do: digital workspace on curved monitor

In this contract role, I partnered with a leading UK provider of professional education to produce high‑impact digital learning for the law, accountancy, and business sectors. My work supported professionals navigating demanding certification pathways through clear, modern, digital‑first instruction.

I collaborated closely with SMEs to translate dense regulatory frameworks and complex technical topics into concise, learner‑centred content. My focus was on distilling intricate concepts into practical, applied knowledge that fits the needs of busy working professionals.

Leveraging AI technologies such as Copilot to enhance and refine PowerPoint materials, I prepared all content for seamless integration into Articulate Rise. Using Rise, PowerPoint, and generative AI tools like Gemini, I designed structured e‑learning programs that were visually engaging, instructionally rigorous, and aligned with professional standards. As a Digital Learning Designer, I combined strong pedagogical foundations with interactive design to create coherent, accessible learning journeys.

Specialist Areas

  • Accessibility & Inclusive Design - WCAG‑aligned content creation, usability, and inclusive learning experiences

  • Curriculum Architecture & Program Design - structuring multi‑course learning pathways

  • Learning Technologies & Authoring Tools -  Copilot, Gemini, Articulate Rise, PowerPoint

IT Trainer

What I do with Microsoft 365 apps

I designed and developed a full suite of Microsoft 365 e‑learning materials, including step‑by‑step tutorials, user guides, slide decks, and Camtasia‑produced explainer videos that demonstrated key workflows and features. As an IT Trainer in Local Government, I delivered digital learning that strengthened organisational capability, supported system adoption, and drove behaviour change across a large and diverse workforce. My focus was on transforming complex technical and policy information into clear, engaging learning experiences that improved digital confidence and compliance.

Working closely with SMEs, I translated cybersecurity, information governance, and Microsoft 365 concepts into practical, learner‑centred training aligned with organisational priorities. I produced accessible eLearning modules, animated content, and blended learning resources using Camtasia and Microsoft 365 tools, ensuring every asset was structured, usable, and aligned with best‑practice instructional design.

I also led digital communications and adoption initiatives, supporting thousands of staff through major technology rollouts and new digital services. Accessibility, clarity, and performance‑focused design were central to every project, ensuring that learning was not only informative but genuinely transformative for end users.

Senior Lecturer

What I do: creative software on monitor.

I spent 17 years as a Senior Lecturer in Digital & Multimedia Design at a leading UK university, where I researched, designed, and delivered innovative digital learning across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. My work centred on creating learner‑centred, accessible, and industry‑aligned experiences that blended creative practice with emerging technologies.

I led curriculum development across multiple disciplines, redesigning modules and programmes to embed digital‑first learning, inclusive design, and contemporary pedagogical approaches. My teaching supported diverse learners in developing both creative and technical capabilities, with a strong emphasis on real‑world application, problem‑solving, and digital literacy.

A key part of my role involved extensive international quality assurance work. I made regular overseas visits to Malaysia to oversee the delivery of a franchise degree programme, ensuring academic standards, teaching quality, and learner experience were consistently aligned across campuses.

Collaboration was integral to my practice. I partnered with colleagues across departments and international sites to integrate new technologies into teaching, assessment, and blended delivery. I championed accessibility and user‑centred design, ensuring learning materials were engaging, inclusive, and aligned with WCAG principles long before they became standard in industry.
